North Carolina has one exhibition game under their belt because they host Memphis Tuesday October 15, 2024 in Chapel Hill where Seth Trimble exploded for 33 points and Elliot Cadeau posted a double-double with 11 points and 13 assists to lead ninth-ranked North Carolina to an 84-76 exhibition win at Memphis on Tuesday night in the Hoops for St. Jude Tip Off Classic at the FedEx Forum.
Jalen Washington added 17 points on 6 of 7 shooting with six rebounds for Carolina.
After trailing, 39-36, at halftime, the Tar Heels roared out of the locker room in the second half to outscore the Tigers, 36-19, in the first 12+ minutes after the break and take control of the game.
Trimble hit 11 of 17 shots, including 3 of 5 from three-point range, and drained all eight of his free throw attempts in the best offensive performance of his career to date.
Trimble and Cadeau combined to shoot 5 for 8 from three-point territory on the night.
Playing without All-America guard RJ Davis after his injury in the Blue-White game on Saturday, Carolina also got six points and eight rebounds from Jae'Lyn Withers and six points and four boards from Ven-Allen Lubin.
While North Carolina has an exhibition game under their belt before the regular season begins Johnson C. Smith is playing their only exhibition game today.
