Gerrit Cole Is Returning, Starting, Looking To Bounce Back, Opposing Jose Suarez As New York, Los Angeles Angels Makeup Their Game From July 1, 2021 Tonight In Bronx New York

Gerrit Cole is returning, starting , looking to bounce back, opposing Jose Suarez tonight as New York, Los Angeles Angels makeup their game from July 1, 2021 that was postponed because of weather in Bronx New York!

Why?

Gerrit Cole has been on the coronavirus list!

Gerrit Cole had this to say about his time on the coronavirus list!

I’m feeling good, ready to go,” Cole said. “I’m very much looking forward to it. I don’t think we’ll push the limits by any means because the recovery will be important, but I’m ready to pitch.”

Cole said that he experienced mild symptoms but lost some weight during his layoff. He kept his arm going first by playing catch with his wife, Amy, then with left-hander Jordan Montgomery. Montgomery is set to return from the COVID-19 injured list on Tuesday, when he’ll pitch one of the games in a doubleheader against the Red Sox.

Gerrit Cole hasn’t pitched since July 29, 2021 at Tampa Bay!

In that game  Gerrit Cole closed his eyes and kicked at the dirt of the Tropicana Field mound, having watched his 105th and final pitch of the afternoon pop out of Brett Gardner’s glove for a costly error.

Two runs scored on that play, sealing what was arguably Cole’s roughest start since joining the Yankees, and the view didn’t improve much from the dugout. The Rays continued to slug in a 10-run sixth inning, handing the Yankees a 14-0 defeat on Sunday in the finale of a three-game series.

Tonight Gerrit Cole who comes into the game with a record 10-6 with an earn average of 3.11 is going to be looking to bounce back!

Why?

Because on July 29, 2021

Gerrit Cole closed his eyes and kicked at the dirt of the Tropicana Field mound, having watched his 105th and final pitch of the afternoon pop out of Brett Gardner’s glove for a costly error.

Opposing Jose Suarez who unlike Gerrit Cole is a left handed pitcher!

Jose Suarez comes into the game with a record of 5-5 with an earn run average of 3.90.

New York who is a member of the American League East comes into the game with a record of 65-52!

Why?

New York took two out of three games from the Chicago Whitesox, won the series!

Why?

Because New York won both games in Chicago Illinois after getting topped by the Chicago White Sox by a score of 9-8 in Dyersville Iowa on Thursday night!

How?

They won Saturday’s game by a score of 7-5!

Why?

Because they They topped the Chicago White Sox in the tenth inning!

Joey Gallo homered twice, including a critical two-run shot in the 10th.

Aaron Judge homered as part of a four-RBI performance, delivering a pair of go-ahead hits that helped the Yankees outlast the White Sox in a wild 7-5, 10-inning.

Then they won the finale by a score of 5-3!

Why?

Nestor Cortes Jr. stymied the hard-hitting White Sox over six strong innings, scattering seven hits and striking out seven.

Rookie Rookie Stephen Ridings missed the strike zone with his first five pitches, then recorded a strikeout and double-play grounder to end the seventh.

Jonathan Loaisiga worked a scoreless eighth, navigating around Ridings’ leadoff walk and dotting the zone on a third strike to Eloy Jiménez that prompted White Sox manager Tony La Russa’s ejection. Voit’s homer coaxed Boone to entrust the four-run lead to Lucas Luetge.

Lucas Luetge retired only one of the four men he faced, allowing Zack Collins’ run-scoring double. Peralta permitted Tim Anderson’s run-scoring infield hit before Hernández bounced into a twin killing -- a fitting ending to a tough day for Hernandez, who committed three errors and had already bounced into one double play.

Aaron Boone had this to say about the bullpen’s performance!

Guys are getting an opportunity in some high-leverage spots and have come through for us,These are guys we’re finding out some good things about. It’s creating a little bit of depth down there.”

Wandy Peralta had this to say about his relief appearance!

I was extremely focused on the job at hand,” Peralta said through an interpreter. “In a situation like that, you’re pulling to execute the right pitch -- a ground ball for a double play. I was able to do that today and end the game there.”

Offensively for New York Rougned Odor hit a two run homer off Lucas Giolito, who permitted three runs (two earned) over four innings.

Luke Voit like Rougned Odor hit a two run home run.

Rouugned Odor had this to say about the New York, Chicago White Sox series!

“From the first game, both teams played really good. We never gave up. They scored runs, we scored runs. Our pitchers did a really good job in this game today.”

Luke Voit like Rougned Odor hit a two run home run.

Luke Voit had this to say about his performance!

I’m capable of doing a lot in this lineup,” Voit said. “I want to hit; I’m a good hitter. I want to help this team any way I can to win a championship. This year has been a tough ride for me, but I’ve just got to keep grinding.”

Unlike New York the Los Angeles Angeles lost two out of three games and the series to Houston who like them is a member of the American League West!

Why?

Because lost to Houston by a score of 4-1 on Friday August 13, 2021!

Why?

Patrick Sandoval entered the game with a 3.12 ERA in 13 outings as a starter, held the Astros to just one hit through the first three innings. But the makings of another quality outing came to a halt in the fourth after he gave up a grand slam to Kyle Tucker in the Halos' 4-1 defeat to the Astros at Angel Stadium.

Then on Saturday the Los Angeles Angels lost yet again!

This time by a score of 8-2!

Starter Jaime Barria entered Saturday with a 2.29 ERA in 19 2/3 innings over his last three starts, but he was knocked around for three runs on seven hits (one homer) and one walk in three-plus innings.

Junior Guerra loaded the bases on two walks and a single before surrendering a grand slam to Jake Meyers, his second homer of the game. It was the second night in a row the Angels served up a grand slam to Houston, and the third grand slam allowed in the Halos' last four games.
