The first three field goals came in the 2nd quarter as Kanoah Vinesett kicked, made 30 yard field goal, 28 yard field goal , 37 yard field goal getting them within 12-3 12-6 12-9. The fourth goal came in 3rd quarter when Kanoah Vinesett kicked, made 25 yard field goal tying up the game 12-12. In the 4th quarter Wesley Grimes caught a 16 yard pass from CJ Bailey , Kanoah Vinesett kicked, made extra point getting NC State within 26-19 though that wasn’t enough as it was Duke who would have the last say offensively as Todd Pelino would kick, make 49 yard field goal giving Duke 29-19 a win.

That game was really important for those guys going out, and all week that’s all we had in mind,”That really hurts, man. Like coach (Dave) Doeren said, we’ve gotta dig a little deeper in our soul. That really meant something to those guys. This was their last game here at Carter-Finley, and they gotta end it off with a loss. It’s not good.”
