Freshman quarterback Zion Turner (Fort Lauderdale, FL) completed 14-of-17 throws for 92 yards and a score, a 56-yard hook-up with sophomore Aaron Turner (Ellicott, MD) in the third quarter, his first career touchdown catch.
Syracuse scored on all five of their possessions in the first half, held the ball for 20:05 and outgained the Huskies 309-105 in building a 27-7 lead at the half. The Orange set the tone for the first half right off the opening kick-off, putting together a 12-play, 69-yard drive capped by a one-yard plunge from quarterback Shrader.
The Orange took a 17-0 lead after the first quarter before the Huskies would answer with nine-play drive that covered 79 yards and 10:09, their longest of the young season, as sophomore Devontae Houston (Roanoke, AL) burst of left end for a 28-yard score with 11:45 left in the half. Syracuse answered the Huskies right back and closed the first half with a 12-yard scoring drive, resulting in Andre Szymt's second field goal of the night, and a 10-play drive that saw Shrader hit Courtney Jackson on an 18-yard scoring strike.
UConn got on the board again in the third quarter as Turner closed out a six-play, 75-yard drive hitting Turner on a swing pass and the sophomore caught a block and flew through the defense for a 56-yard score to cut it to 34-14.
Syracuse , who finished six-of-six on trips into the red-zone, closed out the scoring behind Shrader who ran in his second of the night at 2:29 in the third and hit D'Marcus Adams on a 39-yard strike at 14:07 in the fourth. Syracuse finished with 465 total yards of offense and 29 first downs.

Despite the visitor's attempt to field the punt, the Red Raiders muffed McDonough's punt and long snapper Joe Shimkorecovered the ball inside the red zone at Texas Tech's 13-yard line.
NC State ran a trick play that had the ball snapped to running back Jordan Houston who pitched the ball to wide receiver Thayer Thomas who then passed to quarterback Devin Leary in the end zone. The game's would-be opening touchdown, however, was called back due to an illegal Pack receiver downfield.
Kicker Christopher Dunn converted a 29-yard field goal to turn the muffed punt into three points. Dunn then doubled the Wolfpack's lead with a 47-yard field goal with 3:27 remaining in the first quarter.
SECOND QUARTER (20-7)
With 4:40 left in the half, the Pack recorded its eighth straight game with an interception after cornerback Aydan White intercepted a pass from the Red Raiders and returned it for 84 yards.
The Red Raiders found the end zone for the lone time in the opening half with 50 seconds left after a 24-yard touchdown pass from Donovan Smith to Myles Price.
THIRD QUARTER (20-7)
C.J. Clark recorded his second sack of the evening after taking down Smith on the Texas Tech 38 yard-line.
FOURTH QUARTER (27-14)
Less than 60 seconds into the quarter, NC State executed a trick play when Thomas found Demie Sumo-Karngbaye 38 yards down the field for a touchdown, giving the Pack a 27-7 lead.

Connecticut comes into to the game with NC State with a record of 1-3 as they lost Michigan in Ann Arbor Michigan 0-59 last Saturday. Michigan running back Blake Corum ran for five touchdowns as the No. 4 nationally ranked Wolverines dealt the visiting UConn Huskies a 59-0 loss in front of 109,639 at Michigan Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The Huskies (1-3) were held scoreless for the first time this season and first time since a 49-0 loss at home to Purdue last fall. UConn had just 110 yards of total offense and six first downs in the loss.
Freshman quarterback Zion Turner (Fort Lauderdale, FL) was the Huskies leading rusher with 42 yards on seven carries. Turner completed just 4-of-16 passes for 17 yards on the day. Fellow true freshman Victor Rosa (Bristol, CT) had a career-high 14 carries.
Defensively, junior linebacker Jackson Mitchell (Ridgefield, CT) led the Huskies with 10 tackles, his third game this season with double-digit stops. Junior Eric Watts (Sumter, SC) and grad student Brandon Bouyer-Randle (Battle Creek, Mich.) each recorded a sack, their firsts of the season.
Michigan (3-0) finished with 465 yards of total offense, picked-up 26 first downs and converted on all eight of their trips into the red-zone, seven for touchdowns. Corum carried the ball 12 times for 71 yards while Michigan starting quarterback J.J. McCarthy finished 15-of-18 for 214 yards in the win.
The Wolverine defense forced 10 punts, held UConn to just 2-of-14 on third down and let the Huskies over midfield just once on 13 drives. Corum scored four of his five touchdowns in the first half as the Wolverines built a 38-0 lead into halftime.
The Huskies had a punt blocked early in the second quarter, setting up Michigan on the UConn 18-yard line and setting up Corum's third TD run of the day. The Michigan special teams struck again with 6:05 left in the second quarter as A.J. Henning returned a punt 61-yards for score and a 31-0 lead.
Corum's fifth scoring run of the afternoon came on an 11-yard scamper with 4:36 left in the third, capping off Michigan's longest drive of the day at 11-plays and 83 yards.
