Why?
Because Chase Brice who transferred from Clemson was Duke’s starting quarterback last season!
This season that isn’t the case!
Why?
Because Chase Brice transferred to Appalachian State after one season at Duke after a season where he struggled, committed 22 turnovers while committing 55 % of his throws with 10 passing touchdowns , 15 interceptions for Duke who finished 2-9 on the season.

And now Gunnar Holmberg is going to be Duke’s starting quarterback!
Why?
David Cutcliffe had this to say about Gunnar Holmberg being Duke’s starting quarterback!
You don’t want to play quarterback thinking the first mistake you make you’re going to be yanked, and I’ve never been one to do that,” said Duke head coach David Cutcliffe. “If you’re the starter you should be the best player at the position and right now he is the starter because he is the best player at that position.”

Will he be an upgrade from Chase Brice?
I would say that is a possibility!
Why?
Because David Cutcliffe had this to say about Gunnar Holmberg’s performance in Duke’s recent scrimmage.
In Duke’s recent scrimmage his completion percentage would have been over 70% percent if there hadn’t been dropped passes. We didn’t have a turnover on offense but we had three balls hit the ground during the scrimmage just being sloppy We’re not going to win if we do that.”

But this question remains!
Will what Gunnar Holmberg does on the practice field translate to a game environment?
