The Seminoles opened the second half with an onside kick, and took the drive 51 yards for a TD to cut the score in half. NC State answered on the very next drive with a matching TD. On third-and-1, Leary found Pennix who turned it upfield for a 45-yard score. Going into the fourth quarter, the Pack maintained a 21-14 lead. The Pack iced the game midway through the fourth quarter, as another third down conversation went in for a score. Leary hit Ricky Person on a 43-yard screen pass to extend the lead to two touchdowns with 7:53 left. The score proved be the final one of the game.
