Chase Brice, Gunnar Holmberg Or Chris Katrenick Starting Quarterback For Duke This Season?
Chase Brice, Gunnar Holmberg and Chris Katenick are the quarterbacks who saw game action in 2019 who are currently on Duke’s roster!
Chase Brice hasn’t taken a snap yet for Duke though in a regular season game.
Why?
Because the Redshirt Junior transferred to Duke who is a member of the Coastal Division of the Atlantic Coast Conference
From where?
Clemson who unlike Duke is a member of the Atlantic Division of the Atlantic Coast Conference.

In 2017 at Clemson Chase Brice didn’t see the gridiron !
In 2018 that changed!

In 2019 in over 13 games Chase Brice completed , completed 50-of-85 passes (129.42 efficiency rating) for 581 yards (44.7 avg./g) with four touchdowns ... rushed 14 times for 94 yards with a touchdown … completed 5-of-7 passes for 53 yards and a touchdown vs. Georgia Tech … went 1-of-3 passing and added a 16-yard rush at Syracuse … completed 5-of-7 passes for 85 yards with a 37-yard touchdown pass vs. Charlotte … completed 5-of-9 passes for 35 yards and rushed twice for 10 yards vs. Florida State … completed 2-of-3 passes for 20 yards at Louisville … threw for 97 yards and a touchdown on 8-of-16 passing vs. Boston College … completed 7-of-11 passes for 65 yards and added an 18-yard rush vs. Wofford … completed 5-of-9 passes for 27 yards and rushed twice for 17 yards at NC State … completed 5-of-8 passes for 76 yards and a touchdown vs. Wake Forest … completed 2-of-5 passes for 21 yards at South Carolina … completed 5-of-7 passes for 106 yards and rushed twice for eight yards including his first career rushing touchdown vs. No. 22 Virginia in the ACC Championship Game ... on the field for 210 snaps.
Gunnar Holmberg is a redshirt Sophomore and unlike Chase Brice has been at Duke his whole career. However, Unlike Chase Brice though Gunnar Holmberg has only played in one career game. where he played three snaps and one career rushing attempt attempt for 19 yards “according to https://goduke.com/sports/football/roster/gunnar-holmberg/16159 while his teammate Chris Katrenick is a redishirt junior like Chase Brice who transferred from Clemson to Duke though unlike Chase Brice Chris Katrenick has only played in seven career games. In those seven games Chris Katrenick mpleted eight-of-25 passes (.320) for 103 yards and two TDs with one INT, while rushing seven times for 50 yards (7.1) ... has played 114 career snaps . “according to https://goduke.com/sports/football/roster/chris-katrenick/16249
Though, Gunnar Holmberg and Chris Katrenick have been under the direction of Head Coach David Cutliffe longer then Chase Brice I think Chase Brice will be the starting quarterback for Duke when the season begins when Duke heads to South Bend Indiana where they will take on Notre Dame on September 12th, 2020 who is a member of the Atlantic Coast Conference in every sport with the exception of the team on the gridiron as Notre Dame is independent.
Why?
Because he has played more games then Gunnar Holmberg or Chris Katrenick though he has yet to take a regular season snap for Duke who’s head coach is David Cutcliffe while he has however played for Dabo Swinney who is the head coach of Clemson!
