Then he transferred to Duke where he would play for Head Coach David Cutcliffe! However, Chase Brice’s tenure on the gridiron as the starting quarterback for Duke in Durham North Carolina wouldn’t last long!
Why?
Because he would only play one season for Duke Head Coach David Cutcliffe after transferring from Clemson before deciding to transfer yet again!
When?
In 2020 after Duke’s season on the gridiron was over where they finished with a record of 2-9 and where Chase Brice threw for 2,170 yards , 10 touchdowns and threw 15 interceptions as the starting quarterback for Duke!
Chase Brice had this to say about leaving Duke and transferring after the 2020 season was complete.
Never a mistake to come to Duke,” Brice said Monday night in a text message to reporter Steve Wiseman of the Raleigh News and Observer. “I know it wasn’t what everyone envisioned as far as the outcome of our record but I learned a good bit about myself during my time at Duke. I just felt that I needed to move on and find a better fit for me.” “according to an article on greenvilleonline.com by Todd Shahy!
Recently it was announced that Chase Brice is transferring to another college in North Carolina!
Where?
In Boone North Carolina where he is going to play for Appalachian State that is 166 miles away from Duke where he played for Head Coach David Cutcliffe where he didn’t have much success!
Why?
Because Chase Brice threw for 2,170 yards , 10 touchdowns and threw 15 interceptions as the starting quarterback for Duke after transferring from Clemson!
Here is to hoping that Chase Brice has success on the gridiron at Appalachian State where his head coach is going to be Shawn Clark who played for Appalachian State and was an Offensive Lineman!
When?
From 1994-1998! where he was a two-time All-American (1996 and 1998) and three-time all-conference selection (1995, 1996, 1998) for teams that went a combined 45-16 during his first five years in Boone. In fact, as a player during the 12-0 start in 1995 and a coach for the 2019 team that has set a single-season record for wins by an FBS program in the state of North Carolina, Clark has been part of the two App State teams to post 11 regular-season victories.
But that isn’t all Shawn Clark did as he also was an assistant coach for Appalachian State and had been in that role since 2016 according to his biography on appstatesports.com
