North Carolina Drops Third Straight As Top Ranked Clemson Survives In Chapel Hill

Since winning against Miami on September 7th North Carolina has dropped three straight games including their most recent one to top ranked Clemson.

Meanwhile Clemson who is the top ranked team in the country not only edged North Carolina but had to survive in Chapel Hill to remain unbeaten.

No. 1/1 Clemson stopped North Carolina on a two-point conversion attempt with less than two minutes remaining to defeat the Tar Heels 21-20 at Kenan Memorial Stadium on Saturday afternoon. Trevor Lawrence connected with Tee Higgins on a 38-yard touchdown with nine minutes remaining in the fourth quarter to give the Tigers their first lead of the game. Lawrence finished 18-30 passing for 206 yards and a career best 45 rushing yards. The teams headed into the locker room tied up at 14-14. The Tiger defense stood tall, tackling UNC quarterback Sam Howell before he could get into the endzone for the go ahead two-point conversion with 1:16 remaining in the fourth quarter. North Carolina will travel to Georgia Tech Saturday where they will be looking to avoid their fourth straight loss.
