The Giants And The Jets Open Preseason In The Big Apple
The Giants and the Jets aren’t in the same division as the Giants are a member of the NFC East while the Jets are a member of the AFC East.
However, they do share the same stadium.
On Thursday night in East Rutherford New Jersey it will be the Giants hosting the Jets as preseason games get underway as Eli Manning who was drafted in 2004 out of Ole Miss by the San Diego Chargers and then traded to the New York Giants for Philip Rivers out of NC State begins his sixteenth season in East Rutherford.
However, I am not sure how many snaps the veteran will take if any as the Giants could give some time to rookie quarterback out of Duke Daniel Jones who was drafted sixth overall in this years NFL Draft and like Eli was coached by David Cutcliffe. Giants head coach Pat Shurmar could also give some time to Alex Tanney. Tanney, 31, an undrafted free agent in 2012 out of Monmouth (Ill.) College, has been with eight NFL teams. Though he has not taken a regular-season snap since 2015 with the Titans, the Giants brought him back on a two-year contract during the offseason. “according to https://www.newsday.com/sports/football/giants/giants-eli-manning-daniel-jones-alex-tanney-1.34655413
Kick-Off is set for 7:00pm from Metlife Stadium. The game will be televised on NFL Network.
