Sirk Out For The Season
In February when spring practice started for Duke quarterback Thomas Sirk tore his Achilles and worked his way back to try to be ready for the home opener next Saturday against NC Central at Brooks Field at Wallace Wade. Now it looks like that's not going to happen and that he could be lost for the season.
It was announced today via ESPN http://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/17399793/thomas-sirk-duke-likely-season-reinjuring-achilles-tendon
Who does David Cutcliffe put in Sirk's place to run the offense ? "According to http://www.dukechronicle.com/article/2016/08/report-duke-football-quarterback-thomas-sirk-suffers-significant-achilles-injury-potentially-ending-season Cutcliffe will turn to red shirt freshman Daniel Jones to run the offense.
Will other Duke backup quarterback Parker Bohemme get the chance to make an impact on short yardage plays when Duke is on the goal line trying to score a touchdown? That question is yet to be answered but will be answered soon enough.
Get well soon Sirk !
