Ahead Of 2023 -2024 Season Duke Head Coach Jon Scheyer Has Promoted Jai Lucas To Associate Head Coach Following His Inaugural Season As Assistant Coach In 2022-2023 Season

As an Assistant Coach for Jon Scheyer in Jon Scheyer’s inaugural season as Duke Head Coach in 2022-2023 season following coming to Duke from Kentucky where he was an Assistant Coach for Head Coach Jon Calipari Jai Lucas was Duke’s defensive coordinator.

Ahead of 2023-2024 season Duke Head Coach Jon Scheyer has promoted Jai Lucas to Associate Head Coach following his inaugural season as Assistant Coach in 2022-2023 season.

Duke Head Coach Jon Scheyer had this to say about promoting Jai Lucus to Associate Head Coach!

Jai Lucas has been an amazing addition to our coaching staff,""I'm so proud of what he's done in taking our defense to another level this past season and he's great on the floor with player development. I'm very lucky to have him on our staff and excited to name him associate head coach."

As an Associate Head Coach Jai Lucus is going to join Chris Carrawell who is currently in that role on Jon Scheyer’s coaching staff!

As an Associate Head Coach at Duke Chris Carrawell has helped Duke win the ACC regular season title outright before advancing to the program’s 17th NCAA Final Four. Working primarily with the Blue Devils’ frontcourt personnel, Carrawell played a key role in the development of ACC Defensive Player of the Year Mark Williams. The 15th overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft by Charlotte, Williams led the ACC and ranked top 10 nationally in blocked shots as a sophomore. He finished as the nation’s only player shooting 70 percent from the field and 70 percent from the free throw line.
