NC State, Syracuse were on opposite ends of the spectrum Wednesday in their only meeting of the regular season in North Carolina’s state capital!

Because NC State lost to Syracuse 82-89!
In NC State’s 82-89 loss to Syracuse Syracuse shot 59.3 %.
Jaylon Gibson made his career start and finished with career-highs in points (14) and rebounds (6) for the Pack. It was the first double-digit scoring game of the Zebulon, N.C., native's career as he played a season-best 37 minutes.
Freshman guard Terquavion Smith led NC State in scoring for the second consecutive game with 25 points. He tied his season-high with seven made three-pointers and added six rebounds.
Sophomore guard Dereon Seabron shook off his first single-digit scoring game of the season last Saturday to finish with 17 points and team-highs in rebounds (8) and assists (5).
Thomas Allen added 11 points off-the-bench.

Syracuse won 89-82 over NC State!
Why?
All five members of the starting line up contributed double figure points to lead Syracuse (11-11 overall, 5-6 ACC) to a 89-82 victory against NC State (10-13 overall, 3-9 ACC).
Cole Swider and Jesse Edwards led the offense with 19 points apiece. Joe Girard III posted 18, Buddy Boeheimcontributed 17 and Jimmy Boeheim had 16 points.
Syracuse opened the second half with 12 unanswered points to grab the edge for good. Edwards slammed a dunk to initiate the drive.

In NC State’s 65-73 loss in South Bend Notre Dame went on a 15-0 run early in the second half and turned back every NC State comeback attempt to defeat NC State, 73-65,
The game was tied at 30 at the half and the Pack came out and scored the first five points of the second half to take a 35-30 lead.
After a Notre Dame timeout, Nate Laszewski scored the next eight points of the game to give the Fighting Irish a lead it would never relinquish. Notre Dame would extend the run to 15-0 to take a 45-35 lead with 14:03 to play.
The Pack would battle back to get within three, 49-46, on a Casey Morsell three-pointer, but Notre Dame responded with a three on its next possession to go back up by six.
NC State would never get closer than four points the rest of the way.
Dereon Seabron led NC State with 21 points and eight rebounds. It was the ninth 20-plus point performance of the season for the Norfolk, Va., native.
Jericole Hellems added 14 points while Casey Morsell finished with 10 points and a career-high tying eight rebounds.
Cam Hayes reached double figures for the first time in 10 games with 10 points on 5-of-9 shooting.
