David Collins Of Clemson Is Facing Consequences, Suspension After Dangerous Play That Involved Him, Wendell Moore Jr. Thursday In Duke, Clemson Game
David Collins undercut Wendell Moore Jr. as he dunked on a breakaway drive with 3.01 to play in the first half of Thursday night’s game after Wendell Moore stole the basketball from David Collins. Wendell Moore crashing on the court caused Mike Krzyzewski to storm off the Duke bench officials separated the the players, immediately signaled an intentional foul on David Collins then Wendell Moore Jr. got to his feet quickly.
David Collins was ejected from the game ! Though, before he left the court Brad Brownell his player down to the Duke bench area where they both apologized to Duke, to Mike Krzyzewski . Brad Brownell had this to say about Mike Krzyzewski.
We have a lot of respect for Coach K and Duke and their program . The last thing we’re trying to do is hurt anybody . It’s just the right thing to do was to take them over there and make sure , since he was leaving the court , that he has to stand up and apologize himself so that’s why we did it.
Mike Krzyzewski had this to say about the dangerous incident involving him, David Collins!
He’s parallel to the ground , eight feet up in the air,’’That was one of the most dangerous plays I’ve ever seen . I’m not knocking Collins.
Clemson Head Coach Brad Brownell said Collins let his competitive emotions get the better of him.

He’s a very competitive player , and I think he thought he got fouled on the play down there and so he’s fighting like crazy to get back into play , and then he makes the wrong play .

David Collins had this to say on Instagram following the incident with Wendell Moore Jr. I was going to try to block it from behind but I was going to fast and I couldn’t stop I realized I needed to stop when it was too late I never have been a dirty player never will wish bro a healthy season and I never tried to hurt anybody but I know everyone is entitled to their opinion I have respect towards Duke and Clemson and I apologize to everybody for a reckless play I’m glad Wendell is okay.

The Atlantic Coast Conference meted out disciplinary action follow it’s review. David Collins is going to miss Clemson’s game in Clemson South Carolina at Littlejohn Coliseum on Saturday when they host Notre Dame because he is suspended for one game.
