As a freshman at Davidson in Bates Jones played in 19 games including a personal-best 9 minutes in the season opener against Charleston Southern (11/10) • Scored his first collegiate points in a win at George Mason (1/7) • Grabbed multiple rebounds in a game three times, including a season-high three at Fordham (1/14) • Also had 2 assists in Davidson’s win over the Rams.

Because Bates Jones is transferring as a grad transfer to Duke to use free year eligibility to student athletes in 2021 -2022 because of the coronavirus pandemic.
