Sterling Manley played three seasons on the hardwood at North Carolina!
During his freshman season in 2017-2018 the forward averaged 5.4 points and 3.6 rebounds in 10.0 minutes per game • Had 49 offensive rebounds, fourth most on the team • Shot 56.6 percent from the floor, highest percentage on the team among players averaging 10 minutes a game • Fourth on the team in free throw attempts (54 for 78) • Was 31 for 38 from the free throw line in ACC games (.816).
During his sophomore season in 2018-2019 he played limited minutes in six of the last eight games after returning from a 16-game absence due to right knee soreness • Missed the last non-conference game and the first 15 ACC games • Averaged 3.5 points and 2.9 rebounds • Eight points and a season-high 10 rebounds against UNCW • Eight boards vs. Saint Francis • Season-high 13 points on 6 of 8 shooting from the floor against Tennessee Tech (his second-highest career scoring effort) • Had 11 points and eight rebounds at Elon.
In 2019-2020 he had surgery on on 12/12/19 to repair cartilage in his left knee and did not play all season and had no timetable for his return!

Turns out the 2020-2021 season would be Sterling Manley’s last at North Carolina!

Because the forward is transferring!

“First I want to thank God for allowing me to live my dreams and play basketball at the University of North Carolina. I have enjoyed my time here. The relationships I’ve developed are priceless. My teammates will always be my brothers and I will always be a Tar Heel. My journey has been a little different but with God, the great staff here at UNC, and my awesome family I have been able to persevere and continue to live my dream. I’ve been blessed to have four years at the University of North Carolina and it has been nothing short of amazing but with lots of prayer and the guidance of my family I’ve decided to take my talents and move elsewhere after I graduate this year.”
