Is Duke Going To Be A Better Team Without Jalen Johnson Then They Were With Him?

After I posted my article titled Jalen Johnson Isn’t Going To Be On The Duke Men’s Basketball Team Anymore yesterday someone posted a comment asking me a question!

Do you think that Duke will be a better team without him than they were with him? He only played 8 minutes, scoring only 3 points, against NC State on Saturday, and Duke played perhaps their best game of this season.

My thoughts are Jalen Johnson was the best player on the team. Flashes of brilliance followed by dumb turnovers , Typical of freshman with loads of talent and no college experience with the shortened schedule and foot injury he hasn’t played many games . Who knows what was in his head when he opted out, Now Henry Coleman and Jaemyn Brakefield will have to step up. Chemistry is hard to assess from here. My hope is that Duke will have a better team. Attitude can have a huge impact for better or worse . Maybe Duke’s attitude will positively be affected without this distraction.
