On Thursday Theo John played, returned when Duke, hosted Appalachian State in Durham where they defeated them 92-67.

Wendell Moore Jr., finished with 21 points, five rebounds and six assists to lead No. 2 Duke to a 92-67 win over Appalachian State.
Fourteen of Moore's points came in the second half, including a corner three that capped off a 9-0 run in less than a minute to help Duke (9-1) break the game open. Appalachian State (6-6) cut their deficit to five before the Duke run, and from there were unable to get it back to a single-digit game.

Duke’s final non conference before starting Atlantic Coast Conference play was supposed to be Cleveland State on Saturday but that isn’t happening because Cleveland State had positive coronavirus test with in their program and their program is currently on pause.
Instead, Duke is going to be hosting, playing Loyola Maryland on Saturday because Loyola of Maryland added Duke to their schedule Loyola of Maryland won’t be hosting Goucher College on Tuesday, December 21.
