North Carolina Lost Not Once But Twice In Basketball Hall Of Fame Tip Off Tournament In Uncasville Connecticut Because They Lost To Purdue Then Lost To Tennessee

North Carolina lost not once but twice in Basketball Hall Of Fame Tip-off Tournament in Uncasville Connecticut.

When?

Saturday, Sunday!

North Carolina lost to 6th ranked Purdue on Saturday 93-84!

In North Carolina’s 93-84 loss to Purdue Purdue showed that its high-scoring offense works, no matter the level of competition.

Sasha Stefanovic scored 23 points and Jaden Ivey put up 22 points to go along with his 10 rebounds as the Boilermakers beat No. 18 North Carolina 93-84 Saturday in the first round of the Hall of Fame Tip-Off tournament.

Trevion Williams added 20 points for Purdue (4-0), which has scored at least 90 points in all four of its games this season.
Dawson Garcia hit 10 of his 13 shots and led North Carolina (3-1) with 26 points before fouling out. R.J. Davis and Caleb Love each added 18 points for North Carolina

Purdue led 41-35 at the half and by eight points early in the second half before the Tar Heels went on a run. A 3-pointer by Davis made it 60-59 and Garcia gave UNC its only lead of the game with a long 3-pointer from the left wing to make it 65-64 with about nine minutes left.

But Purdue responded with 10-0 run, going up 74-65 on a 3-point play by Ivey. UNC could not catch them again.

Then on Sunday North Carolina lost to 17th ranked Tennessee by a score of 89-72!

In North Carolina’s loss to Tennessee Brady Manek hit six 3-pointers and scored 24 points for the Tar Heels (3-2), who fell to Purdue in Saturday's opening round. Armando Bacothad 16 points and 12 rebounds.

Tennessee, which went with a three-guard lineup early in the first half, led by seven points at halftime. The Vols extended that to 12 early in the second half on a run capped when Vescovi stole the ball from Dawson Garcia and laid it up on the other end.

Tennessee would then answer whenever North Carolina made little runs.

A driving layup by Zeigler pushed the lead to 74-57 with just over 7 minutes to go and his 3-pointer a couple of minutes later off a steal by Brandon Huntley-Hatfield made it 79-60, essentially putting the game out of reach.

North Carolina is now to prepare to likely see themselves drop in the AP Top 25 poll or drop out of the AP Top 25 after this weekend when they were 18th before losing twice in the Basketball Hall Of Fame Tip-off Tournament and prepare to host UNC Asheville on Tuesday in Chapel Hill where they are going to be looking to snap their two game losing streak!

Tip-off is set for 7:00pm from the Dean E. Smith Center in Chapel Hill!

The game is going to be televised on The Regional Sports Network (Fox Sports South)
