Masahiro Tanaka who is a Japanese right hander has been a member of New York’s starting rotation since arriving in the United States as well as New York six years ago from Japan! However, Robbie Ray hasn’t been a member of Toronto’s starting rotation for long.

Why?

Because for five full seasons and part of 2020 he was a member of Arizona’s starting rotation! That was until Arizona traded him for Travis Bergen and cash considerations on August 31, 2020. “according to an article by R.J. Anderson on cbssports.com

Masahiro Tanaka who is a right handed pitcher comes into the game with a record of 3-2 with an earn run average of 3.27. Tanaka defeated the Blue Jays in his last start, permitting three runs and seven hits over seven innings. Tanaka has allowed three earned runs or fewer in his last five starts, pitching to a 2.54 ERA over that span. Robbie Ray who unlike Masahiro Tanaka is a left handed pitcher comes into the game with a record of 2-5 with an earn run average of 7.17.After allowing the Phillies five runs over 4 1/3 frames Friday, this will be a key step in establishing his postseason role. Barring an unforseen change, he'll likely be a multi-inning relief arm in the Wild Card Series but could start, if needed, later in October. “according to https://www.mlb.com/probable-pitchers

As for game two of the four game series between New York and Toronto in Buffalo New York,

Gerrit Cole was himself on Tuesday  night in Buffalo New York!

Why?

He dominated Toronto’s lineup at the home of the Buffalo Bison who are the Triple A affiliate to Toronto!

How?

The only run Gerrit Cole  gave up was a solo home run in the seven innings that he pitched while the offense did the rest that included Aaron Hicks three in New York’s 12-1 win over Toronto, Gio Urshela had four hits while driving in two runs while Gleyber Torres also had three hits. Because of Gleyber Torres hits New York was 8-10 with runners in scoring position.  “according to an article by Bryan Hoch on mlb.com

Because of that New York evened up the series!

While Toronto lost the second game of the four game series!

Why?

They only scored one run!

What was it?

A home run by Cavin Biggo! “according to an article by Keegan Matheson on mlb.com
