NC State, Furman Are Matching Up Again Tonight On The Gridiron In Raleigh

State (2-1) answered with an 11-play, 76-yard drive for a 1-yard Samuels scoring plunge to send the Wolfpack into halftime up, 28-13.
N.C. State took advantage of a partially blocked punt, an interception, and a fumble recovery in the third quarter to score three touchdowns and put the game away.
Nyheim Hines' 28-yard touchown burst, which followed teammate Stephen Louis' partial block of a Paladin punt, opened the third quarter spree for the Wolfpack, who tallied their second score of the quarter when Shawn Boone stepped in front of a screen pass and raced 47 yards to the end zone. Four plays later, following a Furman fumble at its own 23, the Wolfpack's Dakwa Nichols ran 14 yards to the Paladin 9, and on the next play covered the final nine yards for the score and a 42-13 lead.
Furman freshman Grayson Atkins booted three field goals, including a pair of 46-yarders, to account for most of the Paladins' scoring.
N.C. State rolled up 490 total yards to Furman's 329.
Blazejowski completed 9-of-17 passes for 180 yards, including the 71-yard strike to Schumpert for the longest pass and reception of both players' respective careers.
The Paladins ran for 133 yards, led by Triston Luke's four carries for 50 yards.

NC State got on the scoreboard less than three minutes into the second quarter with a 45-yard Christopher Dunnfield goal.
Mississippi State tacked on a 21-yard TD pass with 1:09 left in the half to take a 14-3 lead into the break.
A fumble on the Pack's opening possession of the second half resulted in Mississippi State's second TD pass of the game to make it 21-3 into the fourth quarter.
NC State found the end zone with just over a minute left in the contest, Devin Leary connecting with Thayer Thomas for a four-yard score.

Devin Wynn ran for two touchdowns, Timmy Bleekrode kicked four field goals, and Furman's defense notched the program's first shutout in 17 seasons in blanking Tennessee Tech, 26-0, at Tucker Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Wynn scored on runs of 42 and two yards, and Bleekrode capped his four-field goal effort with a career long 51-yarder on the first play of the fourth quarter to highlight the bulk of Furman's offensive effort that proved more than enough in helping the Paladins improve to 2-0.
Furman's defense paved the way, helping the Paladins post their first shutout since blanking Elon, 10-0, in a Oct. 23, 2004, by limiting the Golden Eagles to only six first downs and 121 total yards. In addition, Furman's defense accounted for three sacks and registered three interceptions in the dominating performance.
Junior cornerback Travis Blackshear, who came up big with an interception, a forced fumble, and a sack in the Paladins' season opening, 29-18 triumph over North Carolina A&T a week ago, extended his early strong early season play by recording a pair of interceptions against the Golden Eagles for a combined 50 yards in returns that set up a field goal and touchdown.
Wynn got Furman on the board midway through the first quarter when he took an option pitch around right end ad bounced off a couple of defenders along the sideline before cutting back across the field, outrunning the Tennessee Tech defense to the goal line for the score and a 7-0 lead following Bleekrode's PAT.
Two plays later Blackshear registered the first of his two interceptions when he collected an errant pass from the Golden Eagles' Davis Shanley and returned it to the TTU 27 to set up the first of Bleekrode's four field goals, from 32 yards, to make it 10-0.
Bleekrode booted a 45-yard field goal into the wind midway through the second quarter, and finished off the first half and a 12-play, 51-yard drive with a 25-yard effort to send the Paladins into the locker room at halftime with a 16-0 advantage.
Furman's defense slammed the door on Tennessee Tech in the second half, limiting the Golden Eagles to just one first down and 18 total yards on 21 plays.
Bleekrode, who also averaged 38.5 yards on six punts in the contest, completed his perfect day on the first play of the fourth quarter by drilling a career long 51-yard field goal to stretch the lead to 19-0.
The Paladins' final interception of the game, by fifth-year safety DiMarcus Clay, set up their final score of the contest. Following a 37-yard pass from quarterback Hamp Sisson to Zach Peterson to the TTU 2, Wynn found the end zone off the left side for his second touchdown of the game.
Wynn's scores came in his 17-carry, 84-yard rushing effort, which paced a Paladin ground game that netted 167 yards.
Sisson completed 17-of-29 passes for 196 yards and added 25 yards rushing. His favorite target was true freshman wide receiver Joshua Harris, who caught five passes for 54 yards.
Furman outgained Tennessee Tech 371-121, limiting the Golden Eagles to just 23 rushing yards on 22 carries. Two TTU quarterbacks combined to connect on just 11-of-29 passes with three interceptions.
