In South Carolina state’s 67-66 win over High Point University scored in double figure as South Carolina State held off a late rally from High Point to capture their second straight victory, 67-66, in the 1st Annual No Room For Racism Classic Friday (Dec. 10th) at the Rock Hill Sports & Events Center.
Freshman forward Jemel Davis (six rebounds), graduate forward Deaquan Williams (five rebounds) and junior guard Rahsaan Williams all tossed in 12 points respectively in the win.
Despite 15 lofty turnovers, South Carolina State once again dominated in several categories including rebounds (36-32), bench points (23-6), points in the paint (30-24), fast break points (21-9), and tied for team assist (11-11).
Cameron Jones finished with nine (9) points, Edward Oliver-Hampton eight (8) and four rebounds along with, MEAC Rookie of the Week and freshman guard TJ Madlock adding seven points on the night.
With the win, South Carolina State leads the series 2-1 over High Point. The Bulldogs improve to 3-7 overall, while the Panthers fall to 5-5 on the season.
